The next child car seat checking day is to be held on Saturday 11th September at Rushmoor Fire Station, 8 Lynchford Road, Farnborough GU14 6BF.

Experts will be available from 10.00am to 4.00pm.

Last year, the Road Safety Team checked 315 child car seats in fire stations across Hampshire. The free service was extremely well received. Following the checks it was found that nearly half of all the seats checked were not tight enough so therefore were not protecting children adequately if involved in an accident. In April 2010 107 seats were checked and 69% were not fitted correctly.
