Blasting off in Hampshire Libraries! - The Summer Reading Challenge logo

Monday 19th July – Sunday 12th September. Children from 4 – 11 years can be part of a special space mission that will take them out of this world! Stop off at your local library and join up to the crew going on a “Space Hop”, the Summer Reading Challenge 2010. Pick up a free poster and collect stickers as you read six books and work your way through three stages: Blast Off!, Space Race and Lunar Landing. A medal and certificate await all those who reach the moon! More fun and games at www.spacehop.org.uk

Aldershot Victoria Day logo

The day includes a grand parade through the town centre featuring colourful floats, community groups and classic cars - led by Queen Victoria in her horse and carriage. There will also be Victorian style market stalls around the town centre, as well as live music, dance and fun fair side stalls all creating a street party atmosphere!

The organisers would love to hear from you if you know of any community groups or friends and family that would like to get involved in the day. There are lots of opportunities to get involved and they are looking for groups to join the parade and perform in the town centre as well as stall holders.

Little Sew-and-Sews logo

For 8 to 12 year olds. Work through a series of mini projects and find out how sewing can be a fun and rewarding hobby! During this six-week course, Alice and Ginny will work with young sewing enthusiasts and share with them the basics of sewing.

Try shooting on our 6-yard indoor range, or outdoors weather permitting, under the watchful eye of a NSRA Instructor. Minimum age 10 years. All equipment and insurance included in the £4.00 per person fee.

Theatre of Widdershins presents Arabian Nights logo

Saturday 25 September at 2.00pm. Suitable for ages 4+.

It’s amazing what you can find when you really look hard! Here we have three tales from the Queen of all storytellers – the incredible Sheherazade. The first tale she found was hidden in the sands of the desert; the second at the bottom of the ocean, and the third she heard straight from the donkey’s mouth!

The fantastic Theatre of Widdershins take you on an exciting journey through roasting deserts, sand dunes, scented markets and fish filled seas, using puppets, masks, storytelling and wonderfully atmospheric music.

Forever Young Family Saturday - Alakazam and Open Sesame logo

A fantastic opportunity for families to work together and create something amazing to take home with them. Materials provided. All children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Dress for mess!

Special workshop - Alakazam and Open Sesame! To complement the Theatre of Widdishins’ Arabian Nights performance at 2.00pm. Make an interactive picture using a mixture of fabrics, sequins, beads and fabric paints.
